this incident really happen to me, but my father told me to ignore this kitten, later,i found out,this kitten die due to a car run tru it...very time, i hear this, i felt guilty and realise how not metta and wise, of me....i should have help the kitten instead of listen to my father...please advice...

I think when it comes to parents and their help towards us has to do more with kamma at a root level than with what we can easily observe. Technically they gave you life and the opportunity to live. They were your bridge into this world. That can be percieved as having gave a lot already. Maybe they then saw after you for a nit and gave you up for adoption. They then saw after you for a short period of time. Maybe they abused you out the gate of life and made a lot of suffering for you, you can at least say that they helped give you life and the opportunity to practice the spiritual path in this world. I have issues with my parents, too but what i realize is that a lot of anger and negagive states that i hold towards them that are brought up constantly, only prevent me from growing spiritually. I believe whether we like to admit or not, parents are thrust upon us on a sort of pedastol and i believe we have to relate to them positively or negatively which will greatly impact our state of mind since i belive our parents are sort of forced to be important to us as a part of nature.

Thank you Ajanh for the Dharma talk 🙏About the question how to forgive our self , the feeling guilty when you break your results after you build it and it takes a longtime to recover, I try to practice the Buddha “s Four Noble Truth to almost every problem that I had, First , life is full of suffering, so accepting it, nothing new here Second try to find the reason of your failure ( does it come from greedy, anger or delusion) , do not make it bigger than it is , fo not ignore it nor acting like nothing to see here and finally practice the Eight Noble Paths to solve your problems By the way when you do something wrong and you recognize it you are already enlightening, don’t be harsh to yourself, before you practice Meta to someone practice it to yourself first
